How It Gets To You, And What Happens If It Doesn't Work Out
Merch ships like merch — boxed, tracked, gone in a couple of days. A finished board does not: it's a metre and a half of wood and steel, and freight prices it accordingly. Here's exactly what to expect for both, plus the two very different return policies that come with them.
Merch
Tees, Hoodies, Wax — Standard Parcel Shipping
Anything in the shop that isn't a board ships the ordinary way: boxed at the studio, handed to a courier, tracked to your door.
| Zone | Delivery time |
|---|---|
| United States | 2–5 business days |
| Canada | 5–10 business days |
| International | 10–20 business days |
Boards
A Finished Board Is Freight, Not A Parcel
A boxed 150–165cm board clears the oversize threshold with pretty much every courier the moment it leaves our hands. That's not a markup on our part — it's just what freight costs for something that long.
Courier shipping on a boxed board is priced case by case, quoted per destination — freight for something this long depends on where it's going, not a flat rate we can list here. Contact the studio and you'll get an exact quote and timeline before you pay anything — never a surprise waiting on delivery.
Every board leaves the studio in a rigid double-wall board box: foam edge and base guards along the full length, corner bracing, and the board centred and packed tight so it can't shift in transit. It's the same box we'd trust with our own boards.
Preferred
Studio Pickup
No box, no freight to arrange, no waiting on a courier — and you get the five-minute wax-and-edges walkthrough on your way out the door. If you're anywhere near Breckenridge, this is the option we'd pick too.
Outside our standard zones
Ask For A Quote
We ship across the US as standard. Further than that, or somewhere freight gets awkward, email studio@scorch.co with your address — oversize pricing varies too much by destination to quote blind.
Returns
Two Policies, Because They're Two Very Different Things
A hoodie and a hand-drawn snowboard don't return the same way, and pretending otherwise is how people get caught out. Here's exactly where you stand with each.
30-day return window
Shop Merch
Send it back within 30 days of delivery, unworn, tags still on, in the packaging it arrived in, and we'll issue a refund. Return postage is on you unless it arrived faulty or wrong.
Made to your spec — non-returnable
Custom Boards
Your board is drawn and built to your exact spec, in the room, with you — once the build starts, there's no catalogue version to restock. That's our own store policy for made-to-order work, and we tell you this before you order, not after — a surprise at checkout isn't how we want to run this.
That said: you get a 48-hour grace window after your design session to flag anything that isn't right, and a genuine manufacturing defect or transit damage is always covered, no matter how long you've had the board — see the warranty below.
Warranty
Two Years Against Anything That's On Us
Every board carries a two-year warranty against manufacturing defects — the things that are our fault, not the mountain's.
Covered
- Delamination — layers separating that shouldn't
- Edge lift or a steel edge coming loose from the base
- Core or structural issues not caused by an impact
Not covered
- Rock strikes, rail damage, base gouges — impact damage generally
- Topsheet scuffs and edge dulling from normal riding
- Damage from bad storage — direct sun, radiators, damp
To claim: email hello@scorch.co with photos of the issue and roughly when you noticed it. We assess it and repair or rebuild — no cost to you if it's a genuine defect.
Formal Complaints
Something Not Right? Put It In Writing
Every customer can file a formal complaint, separate from a warranty claim or a return. Here's how that works, in plain terms.
We accept complaints three ways: in person at the studio — bring it in and we'll write it down while you're there — by post to 118 Sawtooth Alley, 80424 Breckenridge, United States, or by email to hello@scorch.co.
However it reaches us, we confirm receipt without delay and reply with a full, written answer within 15 days — that's our own promise to you, not a legal minimum.
